May House Project Notes

Getting ready for Block

We've had our first weather delay. One days work because of a significant rainstorm. We need the water so it was a welcome break. Once it cleared work continued.

The new foundation will be a masonry block wall. Here materials are being delivered and placed around the edges of the house.

Delivery

Blocks are heavy, so the pallets are placed all around where they are needed to save time and effort when building the wall.

There was an apple cider press in a shed attached to the house. Here the demolition of the shed is starting. Our garage will go in this spot. We are saving much of the wood for use in other projects.

Bill McKee brings a trailer on site where he stores all his tools. It's well organized as you can see with everything close at hand.

End of the day, block ready to start.
