May House Project Notes
First Blocks
The first course of blocks goes in.

Making sure the blocks are level and in the correct position.
Working on the east side where the fireplace will go.

After the blocks were finished the inside was filled with concrete.

The next step is to lay a course of special U-shaped blocks with re-bar inside to pour a concrete beam. Hooks that are in the house beam are used to attach the house to the foundation.

Looking down the foundation. Rebar inside and the hooks connected to the wire ready to pour the concrete beam.

After the beam is poured another course of thinner blocks is laid.

Because we're adding a radiant floor heat system to tehhouse we needed to reinforce the floor joists with an additional beam running the length of thehouse. Here is the large 48 foot beam after installation.

End of the day.
