Lamb and Mutton Geese Goose Eggs Lamb and Mutton Meat TM We are now able to offer our Black Welsh MountainTM brand meat products by the piece. We have packages of mutton chops, steaks, whole leg and shoulder roasts, shanks, ground meat and stew available for pickup at the farm or delivery in Paonia. Whole sheep and all lamb cuts must be special ordered. Sorry, we do not ship meat. Our sheep are entirely grass and forage finished. We do not feed any grains to slaughter stock. We do not use any added hormones or any routine antibiotics. Our sheep are grazed on mixed pastures or fed high quality hay for their entire life. For humane care we provide vaccinations and deworming of the flock as required. We are inspected yearly by federal vets and are a Certified Scrapie Free flock enrolled under the Scrapie Flock Certification Program of the USDA. We have also performed several full-flock tests for OPP and continue annual monitoring. We have never had a case of OPP in the flock. We welcome your visits, we are open Saturday from 11 to 5 and whenever our Delta County Farm Tour flag is up or by appointment. Rack of Mutton $19.00/lb Whole Bone-In Leg $10.00/lb Whole sheep are available for custom slaughter and can be cut to your specifications. Whole lambs are priced at $10.50/lb on the retail weight. Whole mutton are priced at $9.50/lb on the retail weight. We are booking slaughter dates into 2008 right now. We will not be able to have animals slaughtered during the summer due to the various county fairs that take all domestic livestock slaughter slots. We currently have one slaughter date in early July and then we will not be able to slaughter any animals until the end of September 2008. However we have been busy this winter and have plenty of meat in stock in our 4 freezers. If you want a whole sheep please contact us as soon as possible so we can schedule the slaughter for you. Roasting Geese As of now we no longer have a facility to get geese slaughtered. Until we can process our geese we are not taking any more goose reservations. We do not yet know whether we will be able to provide any geese at all in 2008. We are exploring an option to provide geese skinned out so there would not be any skin. If this is somehting you would consider please contact me as soon as possible. Eggs We will have some goose eggs for sale this spring. Geese are seasonal layers so I won't know until they start when I will have eggs ready and the season is very short.
