PlantingFor planting the hop rhizomes we mixed the soil from the planting holes with an equal amount of composted sheep manure.

Soil Temperature LoggingIn addition to the hops themselves we also buried a soil temperature data logger. We are taking a sample of the soil temperature every 90 minutes. We have a second data logger measuring air temperature. We will retrieve these data loggers in 120 days and post results then.

Hop VarietiesThe six varieties we have selected for this trial are
Centennial We have 2 plants of each variety. To randomize the locations for the planting of each variety within the set we used a random number to decide which variety would be located in each space. We have two sets of hops. Set A is the southern set and set B is the northern set.
